Thanksgiving has come and gone, and we stuffed ourselves silly. This year we stayed in town and had Thanksgiving dinner at our friend's home. Josie and Garrett were excellent hosts and chefs for the evening.
The bird was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were mashed just right, and the yams were sweet and delicious. But my favorite dish of the night was the homemade stuffing. No bagged breadcrumbs were used in the making of this stuffing. Rather Josie cubed the bread herself and then toasted it before making the stuffing. It was delicious, and I must get the recipe (which is Garrett's mom's recipe).
I was stuffed - just look at that belly!
After dinner was done and the dishes were washed, we started in on the pies. Too tired to bake this year, I opted for the Costco apple and pumpkin pie route. Big enough to feed a family of 15, these pies were huge! Throw a little ice cream and whipped cream on top and we were all in a food coma. Alex and Mike even snuck in a little nap after dinner.
